.
When Jesus launched his one-man invasion of planet earth, he began by gathering a band of disciples to advance his kingdom-movement. He ended by entrusting his movement and his dreams to his inner circle with these words: "As the father sent me into the world, likewise I am sending you!" The mantle of the Jesus movement was not only taken up by the 12, but by the next generation (Stephen and Philip) and the next generation (Paul, Silas, Barnabas, Apollos) and the next generation (Timothy, John Mark, Titus) and beyond. Movement leaders gather people around tables and bread and wine and vision. Meals make movements. We are in the cafes and clubs and campuses of Romania to mobilize the next generation of Jesus' movement to overthrow injustice and exploitation and indifference. Table to table. Jesus style.

My Wing-Man: Vali!

Pray for my dear friend and Wing-Man, Vali.  He is devoted to me and my work, and I love him completely. He helps me every day, whether I am in Romania or not, freely spends from his pocket, and resists any compensation. He loves the Way of Jesus, and he believes all the right stuff. But he doesn't really lay claim to being "in" because he knows his life falls short.

1. Pray that Vali will know the perfect love of God -- Love beyond fear.
2. Pray for his girlfriend Alexandra. Pray that she will forget everything she ever heard about God, and just let God show himself as he really is. Pray that she God's image---she is his art-work! -- and all she can be in Him.
3. Pray that circumstances will allow him to come to the USA for a couple of months this winter.
4. Pray for an upcoming surgery, and a speedy recovery. Also for the expenses and lost time at work.
5. Pray that all his thoughts will run in parallel with God's eternal wisdom.

Love

Without love, I am nothing. Without love, there is nothing meaningful. When you are surrounded by a big church building and program and institution, it's hard to remember what that means. But here in Bucharest, where souls are as gray and crumbly as the communist era apartment blocs, it is thunderously obvious that Love is EVERYTHING.

Jesus said "Love God with all you are, and love your neighbor the way you love yourself---that sums it all up!" Let's park our theological and dispensational  "Yes, but...'s"  for a minute and let that sink in.

And click here and read 1 John 4:7-19

Prayer Point for today: Pray that God will reveal himself in love poured out. May our Kids experience the reality of God in his love, and may they manifest the reality of God in love. May God build a unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.

Pray especially for:
Saints -- Nadia, Alexandra B, Ana M
Seekers -- Valentin, Paula, Iulia, Florin
Bubble-Boy -- Vali
Moths-round-the-Flame -- Ana B, Iulia, Lorena, Diana, Geany, Alexandra C, Ana P, Liviu, Monica
Backsliders -- Deea, Marius, Maria
Parents -- Gica, Maria, Mihai, Luci, George, Marga

Join Our Adventure!

This blog is for people who "get it". I will not try to sell what we are doing in Romania, or even to explain it completely. If you are here, you probably understand that the unseen things are superior to the visible things, because "we know that the visible things are temporary, but the unseen things are eternal." (2 Cor 4:17-18, or read the whole wonderful passage.)

Prayer is dragging the unseen things in the heavens into the visible reality of the earth. "Come thy kingdom; Be done thy will -- as in the heaven, so in the earth!" That's what prayer is all about. Sounds too dramatic? Well, maybe so, but it's the only thing that really works--the only thing that matters. So, pray with us!
